Edwin Monroy set in motion his love for dance and performance after enrolling in ROP dance in high school. Since then he has continued training in modern, jazz, ballet and hip hop. After high school, Edwin proceeded with dance at Saddleback College training under Margie Himes and Deidre Cavazzi. There he choreographed and performed for school productions and recitals, receiving awards for best choreography, best performer and a scholarship to attend an intensive dance program at Long Beach University. To continue gaining experience, he trained at the South Coast Conservatory for a year, participating in their Nutcracker production. Edwin expanded his performance repertoire when he auditioned and performed with The Voice contestant Jamella Perkins. Constantly looking for opportunities to teach dance and expand his knowledge, creativity and technique, Edwin has instructed at several studios including San Clemente Dance and Performing Arts and Capistrano Academy of Dance. Outside of studio instruction, he enjoys performing at non-profit and community events. While fostering limitless innovation, Edwin hopes to inspire students to be open minded to new movement and style.
