Christopher Caputo

Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts from the University of California at Irvine where he studied acting, singing, dance, and theatrical design. After getting his start at Mission Viejo High School he has become a veteran of the stage.

Actor/Performer, Over the past 27 years, he has performed such roles as Julian Marsh in 42nd Street, Captain Von Trapp in Sound of Music, Emile De Becque in South Pacific, Governor/Innkeeper in Man of La Mancha, Hajj the Poet in Kismet, Joe/Josephine in Sugar (a musical version of Some Like it Hot) and and many others. Performances of the above roles were with SCLO, Limon/Carr Productions, The Rose Center Theater, Curtain Call Dinner Theater, West Covina Playhouse just to name a few. Chris studied at the Moulton Playhouse Acting Conservatory and has won both scholarships and acting awards including the MACY award for Best Actor.

Vocalist/Music Director, Chris studied privately with Diane King Vann, Christen Cornell and the late Dr. Maurice Allard. As a mentor, Dr. Allard completely changed Chris’ concepts and understanding of the human voice and Chris has modeled his vocal style and teaching using the techniques taught by Dr. Allard. Having taught voice for many years, Chris enjoys helping his students grow and build an understanding of how and why we sing. Chris is currently the Director of Music for St. Kilian Catholic Church.

Dancer, Chris studied at both the West Coast Center of Performing Arts and the Ballet Conservatory of Mission Viejo where he studied eight years of Ballet, Jazz, and Modern dance. Christopher performed the role of Dr. Copelious in the ballet Copelious as well as danced Romeo and Juliet in LA with the Joffrey Ballet as a member of the corps.

Theatrical Designer, Chris has designed sets and/or lighting for shows like, Noises Off, They're Playing our Song, Godspell, A Mid Summer Night's Dream, Singin' in the Rain, Pollution Solution, Fools, The Boyfriend, The Sound of Music, Grease, Bye Bye Birdie, Carousel, South Pacific, Sugar, and The Caucasian Chalk Circle. Chris was the resident Designer for the Ballet Conservatory of Mission Viejo and is the resident Designer for Center Stage Dance and Performing Arts. He is also the Theater Manger, Designer, and Technical Instructor for Mission Viejo High School.
