Annual Dance Concert - Each year CSDPA presents a dance concert which provides our students the opportunity to showcase their dance skills and routines. This dance concert is held in a professional theater and requires students to purchase a costume(s) for each class in which he/she is enrolled. Participation in the annual dance concert is entirely optional.Communication – Please call or email the studio if your child is going to miss class due to illness, school events, vacation, etc. Also, please notify the office of any class schedule changes, new phone number or address and emergency contact information. CSDPA relies heavily on email to communicate upcoming events, class schedule changes, account information, etc. It is the parent's responsibility to read emails and/or come to the studio to check the bulletin board in the studio lobby for any current information. Class Placement - Classes are based on both age and ability. During the year, students may be transferred to other classes if necessary and in the best interest of the student. Many factors are considered in determining placement. We place students into levels based on ability, attitude, consistency, effort, musicality, and physical and emotional readiness. Class Size - Class size is generally limited to 15-20 students, although some classes may be smaller or larger based on the instructor’s preference. If a class has reached capacity, a waiting list will be started. It is the parent’s responsibility to notify the studio if their child wishes to drop out of their classes, so that students on the waiting list can be added. Lobby Etiquette - Observing your child’s class from the lobby area is a privilege. We feel it’s important for parents to see their child’s work in progress. Please try not to distract your child or the class. Do not allow conversations in the lobby to get too loud. Also, please do not allow siblings to knock on the windows or doors. If it is necessary for you to bring a young child (or children) with you in the lobby while waiting for your child, you must keep that child with you at all times. Valuables - Please do not leave valuables unattended. CSDPA cannot be held responsible for any loss of property. Studio Etiquette – Students are only allowed to drink water during class time. Wrapped food may be kept inside backpacks to be eaten during break time outside of the studio dance rooms. Students are not allowed to eat or chew gum during class. Cell phones are not to be used during class time. Homework Room and Common Areas – The homework room is for homework completion only and will be inaccessible to students due to costume storage as we near our annual dance concert. Please clean up after yourselves especially when using the microwave and sink areas. Parent Responsibility - It is the responsibility of parents to pick up their child immediately following their classes. We advise parents of younger dancers (ages three to six) to stay at the studio while their child is in class. Parking Area – Please respect our neighbors and park only in CSDPA’s assigned spots. Playing in the parking lot is forbidden. Tardiness – Please make every effort to be on time to class. Students who are late to class on a regular basis may be moved to another class that better suits their schedule.
