Jazz

Jazz focuses on skills in isolation, syncopation, strength, rhythm, contraction, and expansion. Influenced by African dance, jazz dance uses many of the techniques from other forms of dance allowing room for improvisation. Emphasis on proper execution of the style while performing to contemporary music. Turns and leaps technique are also taught.

Dress Code

Leotards, jazz pants, fitted tops with black jazz shoes. No street shoes. Hair must be pulled back off the face in a ponytail. No sweats or street wear. Pants must not be worn too low-no lower than 2 inches below the belly button.
